After competing for half of 2023’s BEC rounds, Mike McCollum and Track Focused team manager Sean Cooper are set to return to our grid for a full season in the diminutive KTM GT4 X-Bow.

Mike McCollum has raced the KTM regularly with the team since 2018 and the pair took the overall win in the one-off 6-hour race at Donington last year.

Sean Cooper set about creating his own race team in 2009, starting out in the BRSCC Fun Cup and BRSCC Porsche Championship. Since expanding and diversified their portfolio to include the like of GTs, Radical sportscars and heavily modified production cars across a mix of endurance and sprint racing series, in 2019 they took to the British GT championship grid with a pair of these KTM X-Bows. Track Focused are based in Ellesmere Port and Sean is a renowned expert at Oulton Park.

Designed by Kiska, with a 2-litre TFSI engine powering the rear wheels through a Holinger 6-speed sequential gearbox, the X-Bow’s carbon fibre tub is taken directly from the Dallara Formula 3 chassis and the car represents one of the lowest cost ways of entering GT4 class racing.

Sean said, “We had a lot of success and fun during our part season last year, so to be competing in a Full Season in 2024 is very exciting. Both Mike and the Team performed exceptionally well last year proven by our 3 wins, so we have high expectations, although the grid is looking stronger for 2024. The KTM is such a fun car to drive, not easy but very rewarding and the BEC Championship is definitely a paddock I enjoying being part of. Bring on the first round!

Mike added, “I am really looking forward to campaigning the KTM X Bow GT4 for a full season in the British Endurance Championship this year.  We had a few outings last year and Claire and the team were incredibly welcoming.  It is a very friendly paddock.  It was my first experience of Goodyear tyres which I have to say I liked very much.  We got them working well with the car”.
