Britcar Trophy regulars Chris Bialan and Simon Mason are moving from the Renault Clio Cup class of Trophy to BEC this weekend with a Gen 1 Cupra TCR.

The pairing has changed teams in the process but want to emphasise this is no reflection on the hard work and massive improvements MLP Developments have given this season with the Clio Cup; Simon will continue to support MLP with other projects where required.  The team change only reflects a need for the additional infrastructure required with a TCR and the new team, Jabba Sport, have been involved in the running of the car reliably for the last 2 seasons.

The Clio was always a stop gap car to give Chris maximum mileage whilst the pairing searched for the right DSG gearbox TCR.  “The TCR is so much easier to drive than the Clio Cup, I love it” commented Chris. “the Clio was a ton of fun and cheaper to run serving its purpose perfectly but this is a whole new level everywhere.

Simon was keen to point out “everything has happened literally in the last couple of weeks, so we are treating this weekend as an experience gain with the car and team, oh that and Chris desperately wanting to race on slicks again… how do I tell him it’s not looking good for slicks at the moment!”

Sim Dynamics will have a racing driver training simulator on demonstration this weekend in BEC/Britcar hospitality. Uniquely the simulator will feature the ultimate simulation software from iRacing this weekend, a significant change to the normal software on demonstration thanks to our growing relationship with the world leaders in driving simulation software and eSports.  Cars including TCR, GT3 and GT4 will be available to try for visitors.
