Interest is running high for Britcar’s latest foray into true endurance racing, the Britcar 6 Hours on the Donington GP circuit on Saturday 22nd July.

Endurance racing is entrenched in Britcar’s history, inspired initially by the iconic Nürburgring 24hr spectacular, and culminating, in the championship’s earlier iteration, in a series of 24hr races at Silverstone.

Round-the-clock racing in Britain has lately become the preserve of economical one-make racers, though since rejuvenating the Britcar brand in 2016, Claire Hedley has harboured a passion for reviving a 24hr race for true GT and endurance-spec machinery, and the creation of this season’s six-hour race is the first step to resurrect the much-lamented event.

Aware that this couldn’t happen overnight, Britcar’s 3/5 year plan is a year-on-year increase – six hours, nine hours, 12 hours, and finally 24 hrs.

The challenges are not inconsiderable, but with the support of organising clubs, and the wider motorsport fraternity, we believe we can make this happen.
